FAQ on STP policies
1. What is an STP policy?
An STP ( Storage, Transport & Paddock) policy is all risk physical damage coverage for your race car (s), trailer, and tools, spare parts & accessories, virtually anywhere but On the race track.
2. What am I protected from?
Your car, trailer and accessories are covered for theft, vandalism ,damage from an accident, or weather related claims, to name a few of the more common causes of loss. Obviously you will have to refer to the actual policy for other terms and conditions
3. Do I have coverage if someone else is trailering my car and there is an accident?
Yes, as long as your car is scheduled on the policy, you are covered.
4. Are my tools and accessories covered if they are not in my trailer?
Yes
5. How is my premium calculated?
The value of your car, trailer, and accessories is totaled up and a rate is applied to it to determine the annual premium you will be charged by the insurance company.
6. What is my deductible?
$1,000 for the car and $1,000 for trailer and accessories.
7. What kinds of vehicles are eligible for coverage?
We can cover ANY type of race car and trailer, professional or amateur. Sorry, no motorcycles.
8. Who are the insurance companies offering coverage? We have two "A" rated insurance companies writing these policies. Depending on what state you live in will determine which insurance company writes the policy.
9. Can I change items listed on policy once the policy is written?
Absolutely!
10. If I am an insurance broker who has a client who needs this policy, can we be paid commission?
Yes, all we need is a simple brokerage agreement completed with a copy of your license, and you are on your way!
11. Who are you guys anyway?
We are a division of Capacity Coverage Company headquartered in Mahwah, New Jersey. We are now #40 in size broker, in the country.
12. How do I get coverage?
Complete the off track application on our website. We will get back to you within 48 hours with a proposal of coverage. Send back the signed application with a check for the annual premium to us. Once we receive from you we will bind coverage and forward you a binder.
